The author of this educational and challenging loudness is named Paul Collier and he is a professor at Oxford University who has three decades studying African economics chthonic his belt. He is also the director of the Centre for the Study of African Economies at Oxford and a former World Bank economist. He is an extremely well-educated man who answers the question of “Why is it that countries ar weakness to develop properly?” He discusses this and many issues that be going on in the world but highlights Africa as his causa of a country going downhill— essentially creation in the ‘bottom billion’. He illustrates the causes of impoverishment and contingent solutions for it to be eliminated from the world. This boo k is also just approximately nation states almost the world that are falling modality below the poverty line and are being only forgotten about while the rest of the world is ontogeny and gaining economic success.

Collier analyzes the cause of failure of these ugly countries and argues that these poor countries fall into quaternion main pickles that make them struggle at gaining economic success, semipolitical stability, and a chance at having a high modular of living for their citizens. These four traps that he argues to be are: the well-mannered war trap, the natural resources trap, being landlocked with drab ne ighbours, and bad governance in a fiddling ! country. The first trap that Collier discusses is the conflict trap.
